I am considering purchasing a used Walker deck.
52 SD with mulch kit. Serical number D9-39586....how old is this deck? What is it worth?

I believe it would be a 1993.

Locate Capt Devo....he had some non-tilts for $600.

I think the ones Dave had were 54's, which I hear are not a very good deck.

Yes, you are correct, my bag!

I paid $1650 for my 52" mulch deck, tilt up model. I had found a non-tilt model for $800. If you ever plan on having to take blades off frequently, I would definetley pay the extra for the tilt model.

Was that a new deck for 1650?
To me double the price is not worth it for a tilt up.
Just put the drive wheels up on a couple 2x4's and hit the nuts with an air wrench and they're off...no big deal.

Yes, that is a used price, but barely used. Somewhere around $2200 for a new one, plus tax on top of that would have brought to total to $2330 so I saved close to $700. With a tilt up model, I also have more trailer space if I need it. I must agree, it is a costly convenience!
