solo operators monthly expenses

Just curious as to how much overhead you solo guys have each month(approx.) I know this varies due to the # of accounts each has and how big they are and also the type of equuipment being used. If you would please include that info. as well. Thanks!

Fixed overhead:
Truck
Trailer
G/L insurance
Truck/trailer insurance
Price of all equipment
etc

Variable overhead:
Truck fuel
Mower fuel
oil
belts
blades
etc

I'm not going to put an expense report on the net, but I will tell you fixed overhead is more than the variable. Until you get into paying employees.

For solo you can keep your overhead pretty well in check by just knowing your limitations.

A few numbers I can share.

Gas/oil averaged $32 a week

$10,000 in equipment, if thrown away at the end of three years, would represent avg. $277 a month. 5 years $166/mo.

Right now I think it's around $1,000 per month.
