Suzuki 5.5 Engine

My new Toro with the suzuki engine is wonderful but it makes a slight spitting sound when it runs. Is this normal ? Are there any air screw adjustments on the carb?

some mufflers may sound like that. does the noise ever go away? use a 3 ft small rubber hose like 5/16 or 3/8 ID. hold one end up to your ear while probing around your engine to find the noise. check the muffler mount to the exhaust port. chech around the cylinder head. then check eveywhere. put it right on the engine block and shrouds also. if theres a problem you will find it this way.
