I wonder if they changed the cab any...
After looking at a pic of that, and the current 332, I believe the cab on that D is taller, I dont know if my eyes are decieving me because of the way the D is setting, or what, but I think the cab is taller..

It looks deeper front to back, hard to tell about the width. It'll be interesting to see what Deere does with this series.

Looks like they've added counterweights on the back to have a 3300lb lifting capacity, so they can claim to have the largest ROC.
Like Ron mentioned they changed the linkage between the rear loader arms and the back of the cab. The old linkage you could raise the loader arms a couple feet off the ground and still have overhead clearance. The new linkage looks like you raise it and it will be past the height of the cab into the homeowners garage door frame!

you dont have to imagine, just go look at my pics and you can see it gets COVERED in mud.
if the new machine has a seat belt you MUST use i would never even consider it. i hate that belt more then anything in the world. i dont want a belt and i would take a bar but i dont want that either. have a sensor in the seat, if im in the seat it should unlock and move.
whos bright idea for the lights on top? they would last one day if that.
i like how the rear door is set inside of the rear weights and bumper, that way when you back into shat it wont bent the door and hinges.
the cab is also sealed and pressurized.

Picasso those were the exact gripes that I had with the 332 I ran.
When I ran a 332 it was for brush mowing. It had two lights like that. When I picked it up I asked if there was any way to take the lights off so I didn't break them. They said no they'd be fine.
Within the first hour I knocked both off.
That seatbelt was the biggest PITA ever. I also didn't like how the controls were covered when the door was up. I definitely prefer the CAT/Bobcat version of the gauges and key slot and everything. Having them directly over the door opening is idiotic in my opinion.
I also question why the button to activate/deactivate controls wasn't a momentary switch like CAT has or a button like Bobcat.

not only does it have a seat belt but it acts as a boa constrictor until it sucks the life right out of you. every little bump you hit it pulls a little tighter and a little tighter until you either die or crap your pants because it is so tight. its not like a car style belt, it wont let go you have to un buckle it and start the whole process over again. you cant even move the thing until the belt is buckled. its like your mother telling you to wear your seat belt all over again. it chaps my a$$ every day. can ya tell?

I don't mind the lap bars at all, makes for a nice arm rest. If in the machine for extended amounts of time, wearing the belt is the difference between a sore back and having a decent following day. Suspension seats only work if you're strapped in, otherwise you just bounce around on top of the seat. However, if you're loading truck and getting out of the machine every 5-10 minutes, wearing the belt is a hassle.

One of my favorite features on the Cat is that the lap bar is split. So instead of being hinged in the back and having to pull it over your head and push it back over your head each time you get in and out of the seat, you just flip each half up. It is hinged on each side of the console and you just fold each half out of the way, it is really slick and effortless. Also, each half is independantly adjustable in relation to the seat.

I read that as 'fender'.:)
The lack of a lap bar means I will NEVER buy a NH or Deere or anyone else that doesn't have a one piece lap bar, it is a pain to use the seatbelt. While it makes sense it is a pain. I had two NH and their suspension seat worked great, unfortunately the seat belt was mounted to the same thing the seat was mounted to. It would slowly squeeze you.

I hope if they put the bar in the D series they take out the seat belt safety switch. If they do not that it would be a pain. Don't cut the belt. I think it causes more unsafe behavior, like sitting on the belt or cutting the belt. Where if you had the lap bar at least you have something there, most situations the seat belt isn't needed.

I like the looks of the black booms. I figured for a while now that they would switch to black to match the rest of there equipment line. Looks like on back of machine where you chain it down they have switched it to the hole style like Cat uses. The other style on the 300 series was easy to chain down but I seen a few on dealer lots where someone had turned the machine into something and had bent them. I think the way the Cat is designed to be chained down is much better. Im guessing the D is for a delux cab with all the fancy gadgets like the Cat users love. As for the torque bar at back of machine it really is not that much different in design than my 250 Series II except the bar going across looks smaller in diameter. It has rail on the back top of the engine compartment like the Deere wheel loaders. Looks like the same reliable undercarriage that they have been using. I do think they could have made the top of the cab a little more fancy looking. Other than that I would like to some day try one out.

All D-Series should debut sometime this fall. There is no definitive date--sounds like whenever the engineers get the kinks out of the prototypes. I've seen pics from all angles of the machine, and it will be sweet. Pressurized cab, air ride seat, swing out door, even better serviceability, better visibility to bucket when raised above cab, and several new models, including a few CTLs. Mid frames will be available with joysticks and 2 speed, maybe not right away, but soon after D series is introduced. Joysticks should be switchable pattern.

I wonder if the changes made are enough to sway me over to Deere?

Guess again, I sat in a Deere 250 yesterday, what a joke, I had to kinda crawl in there sideways and spin myself around, all the while hitting my noggin on the damn window.
Leave it to Deere to make a large man feel even more uncomfortable.

I wonder when they D-series CTL's will be out? Wonder if jdskidsteer heard anything from his contact?I have not had time. Sold 7 machines in the last 2 1/2 weeks. Trying to keep the pipeline full. Looking like I am having an exceptional start. About time. It slowed way down in Jan. and first part of Feb. Gotta go, Got paper work to do. Catch up with you all when it slows down. Good by recession.:waving:

I had lots of time while waiting for loads of gravel on today's job, so I walked around and sat inside the Deere skid steer on site, and even if they made the cab bigger, no, I would never switch, what a bad, bad feeling to sit inside those Deere's, awkward loader and cab, nope, it's Cat or Takeuchi for me all the way!

But honestly, most of my customers are new first time owners or repeats. Very seldom does anyone switch brands. I found out if you try to switch them you could have used all that energy and time to sell 3 machine to new customers instead of one. You can tell from this site, that most are brand loyal.

Wonder when there will be other pics available of the D-Series machines. Would like to see other views of the machine in the pic on here.

I have been reading this over and over. Now I just have to get the chance to try one out. At 6'7" tall I would be in real trouble, right?

The problem I noticed was how low to the ground the thresh hold is (the part you step over that protects your feet and knees when seated) Deere made damn sure they box you in by adding those goofy filler pieces in to keep the clearance on the protrusion from the front window sticking out.
