NEED ADVICE, I WANT TO START MY SON IN CUTTING BUSINESS. WE HAVE 48"LAZER HP,33"WALBEHIND,WEEDEATERS AND BLOWERS,TRAILER AND TRUCK.HOW DO I FIGURE MY COST OF DOING BUSINESS AND WHAT I SHOULD CHARGE IF ALL THIS STUFF IS PAID FOR? I WOULD LIKE TO START HIM ON THE CORRACT WAYS OF DOING BUSINESS. ANY ADVICE WOULD HELP ALOT. THANKS, TMH

Pick up a $13 book called "How To Start A Home Based Landscaping Business" by Owen E. Dell.
Should prove very helpful. Good luck.

Starting of right includes making sure you have all the proper licensing and insurance requirements. So check with you local SBA office they can be of much help.

It should not matter if all your equiptment is paid for, you will have to replace it, do maintenance and repairs, business insurance, and make money for all the other expenses of the business, and mabey a little for yourself.
