I'm looking at a Ferris and a Toro walk behind. Both mowers are brand new unused. Both have a 19hp Kawasaki and both are hydro not belt driven. Also both are 52" The Ferris is $1000 dollars more. I liked the Toros I've used but I've never used a Ferris before. From what I can tell they are nearly identical, the ferris is shorter (height-wise) but otherwise I don't see a huge discernable difference. Is the Ferris a superior machine?
Toro-$4199.00
Ferris-$5199.00

I'd see if you could demo them to see which you're more comfortable with. I personally prefer Toro and since it's cheaper, I would lean towards the Toro.

Yeah, thats a pretty good idea. the only problem is that I won't be able to try the Ferris on cutting or anything geven the time of year.

For a grand cheaper, I would go Toro.
But I would find out if the Ferris controls are something you like better than the Toro...A grand better...
cause from what I "read" on here...the Toro will cut nicer.
