Posted in another section but didint get a great response I'm just wondering when you go to a customer and sell them on planting how do you go about having them choose the ones they want?

you better just do research on the plant materials in you area. or what i do sometimes is look around the neighbor hood at other homes and see what they have planted. but if you don't know the plants themselves, start learning.

I do design work for my customers, then they can see the choices they are making.

It is a lot easier to come up with a design and plants you think will work best. Then sell that to the customer, every now and then a customer will say whatever you think will work best but I really would like to have one of "xx plant" . So I come up with a design and add their plant/plants in the mix. Thats what works for me

Hi, I am new in the turf laying and topsoil business. Can anybody tell me whether they have used diatomite in starting or maintaining a lawn? Diatomite keeps water and fertilizer and releases it slowly as the lawn needs it. (according to what I heard). It apparently also releases plant silica.
Did anybody use diatomite and had success with it? Please guys, let me know!

I gave a description of the site to my local nursery owner and he gave me several plants to go show the homeowner. This worked out really well. I brought probably 8 different varieties that would do well and the homeowner chose to use about 5 of them, plus a couple additional requested plants.
