Ok guys I have been in the lawn care industry for about 4 years now, I have plenty residential accounts and I am looking to gain development accounts I live in a very wealthy county and I have a personal connection that gave me a list of all the development owners and POA addresses and I need one letter that is asking them for a chance to bid on the development what do I need to say. If any of you guys might have a letter that you have sent out concerning this matter or any other advice that you can give me that would be great, and very much appreciated!!

Sounds like a good opportunity.Hmmm... Start out with explaining your backgroud in the industry and education pertaining to the industry. Then "What seperates you from the competiton? what type of services you offer are you hands on or just send out crews if you send out crews explain how you hold accountability for each.... Just be honest and professional .. send in the copy of your workmans comp and insurance....we also offer discounts to addional needs if they are an existing client.
With that being said, set up appoinments for lunch or meeetings to put names with faces and buiold a relationship based on integrity and so on.. main thing is be honest.. dont promise a no mistake policy mistakes are going to happen just reassure that when a mistake occurs that you are there to resolve it.. and so forth.. Good luck.. i would give a copy of my letter but.. you need to dig and let your passion for what you do speak not my pasion or anyone elses... not to be rude but i hope you understand..

Don't write a letter, take this down time and go and meet with them face to face. :hammerhead:

Your right they say face to face is the best way to get an account, door to door, if they are working outside I stop introduce myself and simply tell them what services I provide

Right on. Alot of times in this industry, its not what you know its who you know, and it sounds like you know the right people.
