Do any of you guys incorporate any pressure washing or deck staining in your services? I am going to add pressure washing to my list of services, but wasn't so sure that deck staining would be a good option as well. Both are easy-in services. One is a bit more involved though and I am worried about f'in up the staining, thus shooting myself in the foot. Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks

We incorperate pressure washing, and unfortunatly when you get the job to wash the deck they also want the staining. I stay away from the staining due to 2 reasons. 1 it takes alot of time for what you are paid 2 Because you stained it they expect you to warranty it too.:dizzy:

i did pressure washing before I added lawns to my business. NO one I know warrantees a stain job. We all stand behind the quality of our workmanship but how long a stain lasts and the subjective nature of that decision would make someone broke trying to warrantee a stain lasting more than a year. In my sales pitch I suggest based on past history the expected time between treatments but that yours will be subject to weather and conditions of use . For my customers they repeat service on average every 3 years over the last 17 years in business . Some are every year or 2 and some are 5years. Most current stains are good for about 2 seasons across the board. check out www.thegrimescene.com it is a p-wash message board like this

I see someone knows how to diversify! Even though I know you were being a smart aze, there are plenty of things a person can do if the work is there for it. Quality and competency are key in any industry. Carpet cleaning is a bit more of an investment than power washing though.
Too bad lawn mowing is only 8 months out of the year, or I should say it is only hot enough to do outdoor labor 9 months out of the year, like lawn mowing and power washing. I must make the best of those 245 days!
Then I can sit back and watch the pretty snow fly, instead of having to go and push it. :walking:
