Hi Chuck!

I think the new color schemes look great.

The only thing I can think of that was maybe not so good was the Exmark forum's red background. I know that it is keeping with Exmark's color (like you did with the rest of the manufacturers) but it is very hard to read the text against it. Maybe Exmark can come up with a different color. ;)

Still, that's a small thing compared to all the rest of the changes. Good job. :)

Bill,

What's the best keywords to use when searching this topic? "Changes"?? "Colors"?? "New Look"?? I'm stumped! :D

I had already changed the colors before you mentioned this. :) Im kind of color blind... I see blue as green, green as blue, etc. When Sarah took a look at the eXmark forum she color scheme looked like "puke".

Also, if you logout you will notice the new welcome message to unregistered members....

You like? Any input or ideas? All are welcome... honest opinions also! :p

That Sarah doesn't hold back, huh?

The gray background with the red 'Exmark" header looks much, much better...and a lot easier to read. Thanks, Sarah! :D

LGF ... no wise cracks .. lol , the term blunt in this case means "abrupt and often disconcertingly frank in speech"

To be honest, Chuck, I don't really care for the new green. It's lime green! A little darker may be ok, but I really liked the turf as the banner, too.

Looks good Chuck, but I would have kept the header as a strip of grass.~NaTe

BTW. I dont visit the MFG forums, cant afford anything they sell. But in this case I will take a peek.

Ha, my first car (not by choice) was a 77 monte carlo that was lime green.

Comments like "big green booger machine" were heard quite often.

A solid color header background helps the images within stand out better. Hopefully people will notice the helpful ones... ( search ) Also, in netscape the tables within the header were seperated and the stripe image was broken up.

I will tone down some of the colors.... thanks for the input.

At first, I thought my computer was messing up. As I didn`t see the stripes at the top. I think the new color does help everything stand out better. I do like the way that the links to the sponsors are spread out on one line. Always have appreciated the work that is put into this site. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!!!!!:D

I noticed it yesterday! I do like the fact that you don't have to scroll to the right to click the "search" button.

I like it.

Make the Gravely ad a littler bigger so you can see me leaning on that walkbehind.

You mean "blunt" like me?

And not pussyfooting around.

Term means not dancing around and not to comment. Leave your dirty minds at home. It's in Websters.

Yes I noticed the changes. Remeber seeing me on at 3:30am when you made the one to this forum.

A quick observation...last week there was a discussion about website colors and such on another internet board, and the general consensus was that your present color scheme would be the LAST choice of commercial web designers, then I wake up Sunday and see this lol.

IMO its the content not the wrapper so do as you see fit.

It's been a while since I've checked in and it's beautiful!

I wonder if you might be working too hard for us grass gurus.

One suggestion, if I may be so bold:

MORE "BLUNT" COMMENTS!

Missed this thread. I cant BELIEVE that so many here are willing to just kiss Chucks on this one –sheesh!!!

You want brutal honesty – here goes:

The Magna-Matic and Gravely headers are very classy and professional looking.

The green in the Commercial Forum should be closer to that of the threads in the Off Topic Forum. I don’t know of a client who begs for their grass to be lime??? or a contractor who strives to make properties look similar to this “nausea-mucous green” as you put it –LOL!!! The grass header should be here and NOT the Web Design Forum. I would think there would be some kind of cool design graphic that would be better suited here. This makes absolutely no sense to me at all???

I don’t know what kind of “flit-boy” color scheme the Homeowners Forum is –LOL!!! The W.E. Chapps and Lawn Monkey Forums have a peculiar look as well - These three ALL definitely need work!!!

I think I understand what you were trying to get accomplished with the Hustler and Pond Forums, but I think the color schemes here are too harsh. The gray that you are using in the rest of the community seems fine to me.

In the words of the old Tuna Commercial - Sorry Charlie! Id have to grade the changes around a C to a C+. :(

Like my Momma told me.... "you can please some of them some of the time, most of them most of the time, but not all of them all of the time".

I will work on my graphics art and color scheme skills.

I think Landscape Management magazine said it best. (something like) "The site is plain and ugly, but works well and has an easy learning curve." .

HEY!, maybe its YOUR monitor gamma?

Thanks for the input though. :) !!

I am sure it looks great, but I still do not have the ability to see your hyperlinks at the top of the screen. Glad I remember where the search is even though I can't see it. :-)

Nobody else has mentioned not being able to see the hyperlinks at the top of the page. The links you are talking about are actually an image, and the links are mapped in.

Can you see that image?

No I cannot. This is do to the way I have settings configured in my internet security program.

Cudos to Mr. Stone!

It was my security program all along. When you made changes, it must have been coded in a different way so that my computer thought your hyperlinks were a image, like a banner. Did not even think about that. Sorry to send you on a wild goose chase Chuck, seeing how it was me all along. Wow  now I see what I am missing. I wonder what the world will be like when I go to some other sites, have heard people saying they could not stand the popups, could not figure what the ment. Bet I will if I keep this banner blocker disabled.

Thanks
Jay
