Took these today while measuring out an 18 acre'd common area HOA. Also grabbed the riser picture from a residential job we were on this morning. Beautiful rotors on golf course too. Meter picture obviously hasnt met it's match with a mower yet.

....and what are we looking at in picture one?

Oh sorry, giant mulch volcanoes that will end up giving their $20k Live Oaks crown rot, and die.

Thanks. Don't see live oaks around here. Are they trying to cover "ugly roots" and overdoing it?

EagleLandscape

Nope. Live Oaks rarely surface their roots. Just a bad practice that some landscapers have gotten into. The current vendor also has performed Crepe-Murder all on of the crepes. Makes them look so bad.

This is one of the nicest, highest end HOAs in DFW. Or should be atleast.

I wish I saw a few more 'mounds' around some of the plantings I encounter. Too many root balls set at grade in heavy soils.

That meter is liability trap.

That golf course looks dormant and so does the turf.

What's Hall of Shame about the truck? Or is it free advertising on LS?

Wet_Boots

Not a genuine Reading utility body, I guess.

free advertising. the sign company botched the colors and layout, but i was just offloading the camera so you're stuck with the picture anyways,.

I keep waiting for it to freeze and crack so I can tell them I'll only put in an RP. Hasn't happened though.

maybe they are proud of it and want everyone to see it?

It's what was there when they bought the house. Tor valves, rotors, controller - I hate this system. But I've also added on a few heads and made some other changes. They're good for $300-$400 each year.

Is that something you did Boots, or do you just work on it?

It might not be there anymore after last summers sky high copper prices .

That's someone else's picture that inspired me to give it voice. My personal preference is for very tall ASVs :)

What's sad about that ASV, is that it actually makes sense, if only financially, because it's an addition to a system with ASV's and low pressure, and the path of the pipe takes it across the driveway, and gets the AVB above the sprinklers in the new zone.
