JS Landscaping

:usflag:Hey hows it going everyone? With this year being the year I get back into the industry, im stuck between 2 names for my new venture. No longer will I be JS Landscaping. I think ive narrowed it down to either Curb Appeal Lawn & Landscape, or Prestige Lawn & Landscape. Have come up with logo's for both of them and cant decide. Also was possibly thinking Total Landscape Care, TLC for short, but really am leaning more heavily tward the first two. We will be mainly targeting the higher end residential demographics. What do you guys think? Feel free to share any opinions....thanks in advance!

I like Curb Appeal if you are going to work with real estate agents (temp jobs till the house sells).. could be a good niche... especially with the current house market... and even when it begins to rebound...

In all honesty, choose TLC. If you do one thing in your business this year, choose TLC. I'm serious about this. Choose TLC, and market the name as such:
Total Landscape Care
People will ask you how to spell Prestige, and it's not memorable. The other name is so played out, that it doesn't mean anything anymore. Every exterior company uses that CA name. Choose TLC, as it is easy to remember, already has an impression in people's minds, and still looks professional.

That looks very nice. The simplicity of the name makes it easy to remember, and the logo makes it look like a quality contractor. Good stuff.

Out of the three I like Prestige Lawn and Landscape.
B&D Lawn Care

Myself I like putting my name in the co. name. I know B&D looks kinda generic. Have recently thought about changing it to something like Premo Landscaping and target a different demographic.

My one word of advice is keep in mind that all of these names are probably registered and used by other LCOs. Now, if you are planning to remain very small, then it is probably not a problem. But if you decide you want to become incorporated you will have to change your name again. But, I mean if you are going to be a solo op, with 30 accounts, odds are you will be ok. But I just like to think ahead a little.

Thanks for the replys guys. Im starting to think Curb Appeal might be a little played out. Going today to see what names are available. I do plan on expanding beyond a solo operation and building the company up to a healthy level. When I had my name as JS Landscaping, after a season or two and looking at the marketing of other company's around me, I realized the name just doesnt stand out the way I want it to. Now that im starting over fresh, I definatly want the name to stand out. I apreciate all the replys, still thinking of new names incase TLC is taken or the other names as well.

What about Prestige LawnScape? Keeps the name smaller

(I think you're on to something, popo... :))
JS, If you were to hire a marketing specialist, one of the things they'll tell you is that consumers really respond to either assonance (or) alliteration, meaning "the intentional repetition of either the same vowel (or) consonant sounds"..... in a title / name.
So, why not something like....
Prestige GreenScape?
This name uses assonance to repeat the short "e" sound twice, in "ige" and "een".
"Green" also covers "lawn" AND "landscape" equally well, right?
Plus, this business name by definition enlists you with a distinct opportunity to jump squarely on the 21st century "green" bandwagon :) (If some of your more vocal & demanding customers haven't already PUSHED YOU onto it, that is!! )

Thanks for the info, definatly like Prestige GreenScape, definatly is catchy as well as Green St. Landscaping. I swear the hardest thing has been comming up with this name for my new company. Doing the work is the easy part and the rest of the show is the easy part it seems! Never made it into the county building today to check availability of names. Hopefully make it there tomorow.

"Green St. Landscaping" uses assonance too! :waving:
Although the abbreviation in the name hides this from view; the short "e" sound repeats twice when the 1st two words of the name are pronounced:
Green Street
