Is anyone else having problems getting to the site? I am ok until I hit the AT&T backbone. It does not appear to be time of day related. Could be 1 am or 1pm it is getting really bad? My ISP stops at #5 from there ATT takes over.

I have not experienced any slow downs.... but, I have had others tell me they have had similar issues that you are having.
Im guessings its some kind of backbone issue or maybe a router?
I have emailed the host tech.
Thanks

Chuck:
Let me know if you need anymore trace routes. This is getting bad on my side. Routine posts are taking 45-60 seconds to go through and pages seem like forever to load. I have a broadband connection that is pretty good, plus I used to work for the company that provides it so I am pretty sure it is not on thier end.
Lemme know I an do traceroutes all day if they would like..

Naaa this is not slow ... if you like to walk a lot.. click a link walk to get a drink, come back click to post get up and go to the bathroom. Help this is UGLY slow...
yea... I am a trace route guy.. worked for & now consult in the internet arena..
Chuck.. AT&T is killing us.. Tech support should be able to open a ticket with them but they are slower than molasses in the winter...look at hop 9-10-11 298 milliseconds is slower than can and string..I may be able to put some pressure on ATT from my end but I doubt it. Last hop is not helping any either that is on VBullitin.com.

You know a LOT more about ping traces and what the data means!
I thought AT&T was a MAJOR backbone? I wonder how many sites out there rely on them?

Is this good reading?

That is not a bad foundation. It is nice becasue it is in laymen's terms for the non-technical. That site does not cover XP. If you are running XP it works just as well.
There are programs like ping plotter and neo trace that work really well for site status monitoring. Ping Plotter is like $12 and it will run trace routes at every 1,5,10,30 sec intervals and more. It gives you a nice graph and places red lines where packet loss exists. Really works well when trying to identify uptime..

I have no reason to believe that this would do anything to help what I am seeing but it was a fleeting thought. Do you archive posts that are old posts there from '99. Might be nice to archive those, keep them searchable but might help a little. Would make backing up easier I suppose... just a thought
Let me know if you need any other trace routes. Tried getting some folks here involved but everyone is up to elbows in gator. I will attempt to persist.
