I've seen the hispanic labor use sombreros and straw hats for years but have not used one myself. Any one else use these or other types of hats? If so, why? Just to state the obvious, but they would keep the sun off your face and back of neck. Do they cool you off by circulating air? I've tried ball caps but they seem to hold in too much heat.

I wear an Army jungle hat during the summer. It shades my ears, neck and face from the sun. It doesn't hold heat in, its much more comfortable and cooler than my ball caps.

i dont wear a hat. you get a nicer tan that way. ill probably change my mind in 20 years when i get skin cancer. i really should wear some sunscreen.
