I believe this question has been asked before...
Google the labels for 100% understanding.

Pre-M (Pendimethalin)
Longer list of controlled grassy weeds, broadleaves
Better applied in split applications for seasonal control
Smelly
Stains you, concrete, poreous surfaces, constant agitation
More cleaning of equipment
More product per acre

Barricade (Prodiamine)
Short list of weeds controlled, grassy weeds
Longer duration of control
Less messy--less stain
Less to clean from equipment
Less product per acre

Think Green pretty well summed it up. For my $.02, I hate pendi, nasty rotten stuff, stains everything, people don't like the smell, and it doesn't last that long. I would go Barricade any day.

Not that expensive at all. I think, not for what you get.

I pay about $20/lb for prodiamine (Barricade). If you do split apps, you get season long control at 1lb/acre. That's $0.46/k. Not too bad at all, if you're doing small 5k lawns like me.

Yes, it is. It is also cheaper using a generic. I have used Stonewall, and Cavalcade, both prodiamine, both seemed to work as well as Barricade.
