Is there a way to restart or reset everything on quickbooks 4 the new year. Last year was my first year and it only found like half of my bank statements and i have a lot of expenses in the wrong categories. So basically my income and expenses and all of that is off. I want to start fresh for this year. Is there a way to do that.

I think the only way to start from scratch would be to start a new company file in the quickbooks program. That or just try to fix your mistakes and go from there. Hope this helps a bit.

For Quickbooks 2008 under file>utilities.
There is a feature called "Clean up Company Data"
It archives all data from the date you enter.
If you try that make suure you make a backup prior to using it.

When you do this Clean-up Company Data is any of the information lost or is it all archived and capable of viewing again. I also want to start all my accounts with a clean slate for 2009, but will not if it hinders my ability to view clients past invoices and payments.

What do you mean no customer support? Have you looked at the help menu? There is all kinds of help from a knowledgebase, search by topic, most common problems area, Users forum to post questions, an area to find a nearby expert to assist you. You can also email them directly with questions, call them on the phone etc. They have just about any available type of help you need. Click on the drop down help menu at the top of your Quickbooks page to find this area.

Thanks Armadillo i was unfamiliar with that. Why do they have specialist who charge by the hour to train you then if their customer support is so great?

Fist answer is yes it is saved as a archive file.
That means it is not a working copy but just for viewing.
That is why I recommended backup first then use the clean up.
That way if it is not what you expect you can restore it all back the way it was.

Thanks for the reply, I am still a little skeptical. I do a backup just about every week. I am just a little concerned that if I do a clean-up I will not be able to do something I need to and have it all messed up. I just don't know.
