Okay Guys, I know somebody here can answer this question even though my Chevy dealership can't. I have a Z71 Vortec 5300, gas mileage rated at 15/18. I want to trade for a 3/4 ton Vortec 6000. How much am I going to be hurt by fuel economy? Since the government does't require fuel ratings to be posted for these, nobody seems to know what kind of mileage they get (or maybe they don't want to say). Thanks.

I have a 99 2500 ext. cab 4x4. I just bought it in Dec. and I also get 11mpg in town and about 12 on the hwy. But if you have a "lead foot" expect a higher fuel bill .

ps. watch out for those dam cops, they are also expensive. LOL

I just bought a 2001 2500HD with a 6.0 and an automatic and am getting 11 miles to the gallon. I am getting better mileage now than I did from my 81 chevy with a 305. By the way, I LOVE my truck.

from the people i have talked to with that truck, most are getting right around 15 mpg.

A wise man once said "If you have to ask how this vehicle is on gas mileage, you can't afford it"
