I just picked up a 72" super Z chassis that had the engine yanked by Hustler because of a gearbox issue. I've got a 30 HP Kohler CV750 on the way but it comes sans exhaust. I'm having trouble locating the exhaust through Kohler and buying from Hustler costs a bundle so.....Anyone out there with a 30 HP Kohler on a Super Z that can see a muffler brand or number on the muffler? If no numbers then at least the physical dimensions of the muffler. I checked with PJ already but he didn't have a lead as of yet. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

You are probably going to have to get that from Hustler. I have found that on a large number of major brands of ZTR's, that the exhaust system/muffler is designed and built specifically for each specific model of machine. So, you get a Grasshopper muffler from Grasshopper, a Gravely from Gravely, and a Hustler from Hustler. Generally no aftermarket ones will fit properly.

You are probably correct Mowingrman, the tolerances are quite tight so fabing something in will probably turn out cheesey. I still have some time before I give in though since mowing season is about 2 months away. Thanks

Check out this link for all the exhaust systems Kohler makes, to see if one will fit: http://www.kohlerengines.com/common/resources/E_1953_J_Accessories_Catalog.pdf. The CV750 will take the same exhaust systems that any of the 18-27 hp commands will take (except the EFI's).

I've been all over the Kohler catalogue site as well as many other aftermarket sites to find a good fit. Nothing seems to meet all the space limitations. I finally broke down and ordered it through a Hustler dealer. He was kind enough to give a good break on the cost. Thanks for the input.
