Does anybody have these, or have any feed back on this system? looking to get the skidsteer package deal. I Was playing around the yard this weekend, It needs some TUNES......:dizzy: http://www.heavydutyradios.com/skid_steer_radio.html
Nice compact radio- I have one in the T320 I am using. It gets great reception. The speakers I got aren't the greatest but it beats talking to myself all day.

That's the same one I'm using and I love it.
I didn't worry about speakers, I used noise cancelling headphones instead. Nothing but pure music.

I have had 2 of the the older version of that stereo in my CTLs. They both have held up good. The reception isn't great but good enough. I think Jensen makes them. I also have the regular Heavy Duty Systems auto-type stereo with CD, MP3, etc. in my dozer.

I have one of the jensen ones in my PT80. Its got to be one of the best investments I have ever made.
Just ask the guy that runs it during a snow storm.

i have XM and a pair of AM/FM hearing protectors. I pick up the signal that the XM sends out. I have the exact same programming anywhere with the exact same reception. Whole setup costs me about $18/mo for two radios (one is in truck).
I will eventually get some bose quiet comforts to plug directly into the XM but I tore up another brand that had a cord a while back and didn't want to take a chance of forgetting to unplug the $200 pair and get the cord stuck in the door!
The XM suction cups up, out of the way, the cig lighter in machine powers the radio, and the mini antennae sits on the roof. Perfect reception and hundreds of channels.

I had an older version in my T190, it was the only thing that worked better than the Bobcat!

I have the JH in my Gehl. Didn't like the speakers, so I opted for flush mounts instead. The box speakers would hinder my escape route if I ever needed it, flush mounts sound just fine.

save your money!!! I installed a small alpine amp and a set of 6x9 speakers and run it off a sirius radio. It'll put that POS heavy duty radio to shame and in the small confines of the bobcat cab the 6x9s provide some thump. I installed the speakers in the side kick panels (had to cut the hole out with the plasma). All this for about $150 and it sounds great!
BTW I did have the older version of the Heavyduty radio.

We use the same radio in our loaders and in the Gators. I-Pod works great with it.

Here's what I would do. I'd build a small enclosure, something along the lines of this unit from Skid Steer Solutions.http://www.skidsteersolutions.com/Skid_Steer_Stereo_System_p/t-tune-10.htm While I usually endorse Skid Steer Solutions as they are a pleasure to work with, this product is way overpriced. The head unit and speakers pictured look very low end, it's hard to tell though, but if they are what I think they are they cost no more than $150 for all that and then the enclosure makes up the other $250? That would be a much better deal if it were about $200, you can build one twice as good for less money.
Set it up to install whatever speakers you want, 6" rounds or 6X9's will suffice. Get a decent head unit that will power them (MOSFET 50X4) and bam, way better than anything else you can buy and it'll actually sound good. Just get power to the head unit and you're set. You could wire up an amp to power the speakers, but it's been my experience that the MOSFET head units running 50 wats per channel is more than enough to power 6X9's, especially in a skid steer cab. I'd also get a head unit that has an iPod/MP3 jack, then you're really set. One of our snowcats has an iPod dock and while I really don't like the cat itself, the only reason I like running it is the awesome system in it, really makes things a lot more enjoyable. I turn my two way off and the tunes up!

you guys that use head phones worry me, i would think that you would never think of putting a deaf operator in your machine, yet you wear noise cancelling headphones. this seems kind of reckless to me. speakers seem fine but with noice cancelling head phones you couldn't hear the screams if you were backing over someone(something that can happen fast) or even back to a car/structure

Have you ever tried peltors? I can hear things better when I'm wearing the peltors than I can using the speakers.

We have 3 or 4 of those HD radios in our bobcats and they work good. Like mentioned the speakers aren't the best in the world, but they get the job done.
