This is what I did to get more power out of my bobcat s-160. So any bobcat that doesn't have this engine will be different. I think the bobcat s-150, 160, 175,185 all are the same. I THINK thats all of them, but not sure. You would have to look and see. Any other models PM me and I'll get you the info you will need.

On my S-160, There is a cap over a bolt by the throttle linkage. Take the cap off, its approximately 1 1/2'' long. Once that cap is off, there will be a bolt that turns into the engine, thats one of the jam nuts, put a wrench on that, then there is another nut right next to it that looks like a cap. It has a round end, one inch long roughly, take that off, there will be a copper washer don't lose that. Once the cap is off, loosen the nut that turns into the engine, only LOOSEN it. Once you have that loosened there is an allen head at the end. Turn it OUT, I turned mine out about 2 turns. Once you get it where you want it, put everything back on tighten everything back up and enjoy your new power.

here is a pic, the nut with the blue paint on take that off, nut with red paint loosen that, once the nut with the blue paint is off you will see the allen head.

Don't blame me if you break something though. Do this at your own risk!

I believe the wheeled and tracked models have the same motors, a total guess though, since they just put tracks on wheeled machines..

But thanks for the tip, I am goin to add this to my favorites so I can do it, when we get a machine that is..

S160 & S185 have Turbos... S150 & S175 do not..You can do this on the T250/T300/T320 models and it makes it a pushing machine.

Same setup on the Perkins engines, the cap is an anti-tamper cap, a real bugger to get off on the Cat's, I turned mine out 1/2 a turn and got some serious grunt.
Start with 1/4 turns, if you go too high, you raise the EGT's and you will pop something.

You need to remember if you work where it is hot or later on when the day time temps goes up you need to be watching the temp gauge. It may want to heat up with your new tuneup. You might have to re adjust things!

Good luck..........More Power To You !!!!!!!!! :drinkup::usflag:

Here comes KSSS you should have bought>>>>>>> Case :weightlifter:too start with:cool2:

Does this mod void any warranty that may be on a machine?

My guess would be yes. Tell the bobcat guys you want them to turn the injector pump up, because you don't have enough power. IF they do it, you will still have the warranty

Thanks Construct'O \\

Although that is exactly what I thought when I read the thread, I am glad I didn't have to say it. Sometimes no one hears a drum that has a beat that never changes. I accept that.

The only way your making more power with this is dumping more fuel to it. Like Construct'O is saying, I would watch the machine close after the change. If the machine ever needs to go to the doctor, make sure you crank it back down. Although with the latest machines, they may have some type of tattle tail in the on board diagnostics. I think it would be interesting to test the engine output prior to and after the change. I am curious as to how much difference it makes. The smaller BC's seem especially underpowered so whatever you can do to get more out of them the better, as long as they can handle being turned up. If not it can be the most costly hp increase you ever made.

I turned up my TB53FR, I have not turned up my 153 but its tempting.

I have had repeat customers tell me makesure the machine is turned up when you bring it out. They get use to the machine having alot more power than stock. Yes, it does void warranty.. Talk to your dealer and they should help you out. If you do turn it up to much and your EGT'S go 1300 degress and above. You are looking to melt your engine...Your dumping more fuel into a diesel engine (instant power) Watch the black smoke blow out....

When it starts up there is a little more smoke, when you rev it there isn't much more. My machine is better on fuel now if i'm working it normal.

I turned up the pump on the little Isuzu NPR, really feels a lot better. Had it cracked way open, backed off to where it's not smoking black.

I think I am going to try the little TK excavator and the RC-30 as both of them are total dogs.
