First off, welcome to lawnsite. Second, you will find that when you ask an unspecific question your going to get some smart a$$ answers, especially if the question has been asked by every new comer to the site. Some topics have been brought up a million times. If you do a search you can find a lot of answers. Try to give us some idea of what type of properties you're looking to get and what your equipment is.

Example. 1/4 lot with a 48" mower or larger lots with a 60" rider. The more info you give while asking your question the better the responses are going to be.

So am I with alot of equipment to pay for. Every job bid is different, you have to account for and if the other companies have a license and if their insured. These days there are many landscape companies out there and most people now a day are looking for the best price... One other way is see how long it takes to get the job finished and time it by two. Nobody is going to get rich from mowing all you can hope for is once you work for someone and they see what kind of work you can do, they will always use you!!!!...

charge what you can charge. find how long it takes you what you want to make and charge that. if your unsure dont give a quote tell them you will do it and see how long it takes and then you can tell them a price if they dont like it and you cant go any lower say sorry i can satisfy you and move on. it comes down to what your worh to them.

When I started my business a was a high school grad with no degree on nothing yet I had a pretty good idea about how much to charge for my services if you are so smart why this would be so difficult to figure out.
If you have a degree or feel are smarter than the average people why you don't realize that your question is so vague that to have an answer one would have to know many things you don't describe.
There's many people in this forums that would be willing to help but you have to change your attitude and approach.

so your a member of local 571,what did you take a withdrawl and you must be just paying your dues each month.being a 478 member myself i took a withdrawl and i keep up my dues.as far as price i would figure out what you need per hour and then when you estimate a yard you could judge how long it takes to mow and trim and use your hrly to set price.dont drop your gate for less than $40.

yeah, the economy is great. dont drop your gate for less than $40! good advise. you said your yards are a tenth acre and take 5 minutes each and there are 25 in a row so $40 each is just right.

oh wait, you didnt provide any info. I drop my gate for much less than $40, but never less than $40/hr.

walk each lawn individually and estimate how long it will take you and price it accordingly
