View Full Version : How to replace the electronic ignition on a Stihl 024 AVS chainsaw?

I just bought a saw that needs this done on it, and the parts to repair are included with it. Just need instruction on how to do it. Thanks alot.

Just simply remove old coil and install new one. Position new coil lined up with magnet on flywheel place a small piece of cardboard (like of the parts box) between the two and tighten and position wiring back like the old. Your done.

Yeah, not quite sure what the question is. Just take the starter off, pop the coil off and put the new 1 on with .010 gap. To my memory the 024 only used 1 coil and it was always electronic ignition so you dont have to cut out the points or anything.
