O.K need a quick answer, I am looking for a trailer to start a second crew. A guy contacted me with a 7x12 enclosed trailer. He hasnt given me much info on it but it is a titled 2008 trailer. It is 7 foot inside and 7 feet wide and 12 feet long. Fold down rear door and side door swings. He said he pulled it less then 10 times. His asking price has me worried because it seems low to me. I havent looked at too many enclosed so i dont know the price of those, but i cant find a new open trailer for what he is asking...

His asking price is $900 and he is 300 miles away from me but willing to meet half way for free or i drive the entire way and he buys half my gas... he is the only pic i have so far.. please help me out..dont want to pass up a nice deal if it is...

Thats what i thought at first also. but like i stated i have never had interest in an enclosed trailer. But for this price i cant go wrong. plus if he meets me half way or all the way. i am not sending money, until i get the trailer.

thats right, they dont come in 7x12..Where did you see it? Craigslist? Ask him for a phone number and a serial number to check to see if it is stolen

So if i get the serial number do i just call the cop shop to find out if it is stolen? He said he has the title in hand?

That ain't cheap look at the thing, what's it good for weight capacity wise? 2500lbs i bet with that single axle? 900 is great but I'd offer him $850 cash.

I guess I'm just used to getting trailers cheaper down here, Thats what I paid for my 14' trailer. Its got a 3k axle but remember the weight of the trailer is probably around 1300lbs, so that leaves you with around 1700 for equipment.

I've been researching that same trailer (in white). 2500-3000 here. I agree with the rest, sounds like a steal, a steal, a STEAL. Make sure it's legit. Some people are really hurting for cash right now. I wish I could find one for that price!

Seriously?? I would wanna give the guy an extra 50 instead of asking him to bend over even further
That thing is a freaking steal if in fact he has the title in hand.

Looks like an Interstate trailer from the logo on front. That is an extremely cheap price for that trailer. Look up Interstate trailers on the web and check the prices on a new one. I'm sure they still have 08 models left.

I wouldn't be for meeting nobody out in the middle of wherever they say without
bringing along at least one burly buddy, a couple of baseball bats and maybe a gun.

Not for that kind of money, something is up, them kind sell for 3 g or better.
And the guy might be real desperate, but before I'd head out, I would want:

A street address, a name, and a phone number.
And then I would reverse lookup that information and I would want at least some confirmation that the information is true.
It doesn't have to be a perfect match at all, so long at least one piece of information clicks you should be all right.
Hell I do as much for first-time customers, it just gives me peace of mind.

Oh, on the serial number, I believe you can call the local DMV as well, perhaps even their Web site has a search for title Vins.

Now if all that checks out, the only other thing that comes to mind is the OTHER side is all dented up. :p

So it might be a really good deal, or a complete waste of a 300 mile drive, no telling.
Who knows...
