I am closing out my lawn care division this year and going completely with maint., construction and installation. So my big scag needs to go. I only put 50 hrs. on it last year (another reason to move it). This machine has been extremely well kept with a full maint. log and receipts. It is a Sabre Tooth Tiger 31 hp B/S turbo diesel w/72" advantage deck. Very low cg and cuts extremely well @ 10-12 mph. The machine has been fully serviced and is ready to go to work and has 479 hrs. I'm in Central Pa (17745) and am asking 9k. PM or phone (570) 893-4679 with any questions. I'll try and post a pic or two.

WOW only 475 total hours very clean looking these TT with the B/S turbo diesel are becoming rare finds; especially in this good of shape. Switch to AMSOIL fully synthetic lubricant to ensure a cool running diesel engine & turbo this machine is truly a Cat I would not want to mess with even with my diesel dog.

If you looking for a large frame diesel I would not hesitate purchasing this one myself. Some one is getting a deal soon.

I'd love to buy it, but the price is holding me back! Maybe if it was in the 4k range!

I've seen bota's in with the same hours for less. Bota's engines are great, now maybe the Scag has the better cut quality, but anyhow.

One with a warranty. Why it's not worth 9k (at least to me) is because a problem with that diesel motor or even the hydros and your past 13k.

It is definately a nice machine, but not worth anywhere near 9k. Probably lucky to get 7k.

nosparkplugs, I appreciate all the positive banter (as well as everyone else that chimed in). I'm sorry some don't think it is worth the 9k. Price this machine new and it retails for 19,800. I paid 16k in 04' when I bought it. These machines will run a few thousand hours before you have any trouble. I have changed hyd. fluid at end of every season along with fuel filter. Engine oil/filter every 50 hrs. Fluids/filters are cheap insur. and keep the machine happy. Diesel will outlive a gas on even its worst day. This philosophy has held true for my 19 yrs in bus. Diesel will out live a gas even on its worst day, that has been proven. I don't look to create any hard feelings with anyone as we are all welcome to our own opinions. I appreciate everyones honesty and willingness to reply.

I took this machine back to my local dealer and had him put a book value on it and it came out between 11k-12,500. I also found another post of a STT after a google search and it is an 05' with just over 500 hrs. and they are asking 9,900k and it looks a lot worse than mine. Once you go diesel you won't look back. Fuel savings, POWER, reliability, longevity.

Well I hope you sell it... like others said putting it on ebay when the season starts may be a good idea. You will have thousands of people looking at it rather than hundreds on lawnsite. It is definately an awesome machine... the diesel coupled with a Scag frame should really last a long time.

There is one in St. Louis on craigslist with comparable hours(472) that is advertised at $7200. That's more in line with what this machine will actually bring...............Lynn

Which deck is that? Advantage or Velocity?

91202
03-02-2009, 01:22 PM
It has the advantage deck (72"). I had some very large properties at one time, including a church that covered a full city block. This machine will easily cut 3 acres per hour if you want it to. After all time is money and this machine is designed to do one thing and only one thing. And boy can it do it. I will have to check out the craig ad. I have been trying to keep up to date on what has been offered to keep my price fare. I need to move this machine because I ordered an MT-55 and need to use the money from my scag to offset price of MT. Thanks again to all who post. The info. is greatly appreciated.

Price update; new lower price on SCAG DIESEL $8500. would like to find a nice new home for this machine. Otherwise this perfectly good machine that has never seen weather will have to be traded on the mt and most likely have to sit outside at the dealer. Is anyone interested?

91202
03-05-2009, 10:00 AM
Hard to believe that no one is interested in a 20k machine in impeccable condition for 8500? I appreciate all those who have shown a interest. I will leave the thread open a little while longer then I need to move on. 8k final offer.

Nice machine! Wish I had the extra cash and some larger work to justify the purchase! Good luck selling it!

J&R, thanks for the kind words. The machine will create the work for you. Once people know you are capable of doing the work they will ask. It will also save time on other properties with the large deck. Remember, time is money when you are mowing.

I agree that 8k is a great price. If the economy were not so bad, it would surely do better. Thanks for the support. If I could start to finance, would that make me eligalbe for bail-out money?

I went out and saw this machine this morning. Someone would be getting a great deal. It looks and rides showroom new. If you saw his truck and trailer you wouldn't have even needed to see the machine. It looks as though it came out of the box this morning. Good luck with your new stand on Bobcat.

This Scag TT diesel Sale is a perfect example of how resale value is nothing more than brand propaganda. everyone knows Scags hold their resale value right; yet you still have your knuckle heads trying to lowball the price on a awesome machine:hammerhead:. 9012 glad you sold your TT.

First of all, glad you sold your TT 91202. And to you nosparkplugs... don't be a dumbass. Some of us that lowball actually get much better prices than bending over and paying the asking price. Being cheap and frugal means more profit. It isn't personal... it is business.
