Just wanted to talk to some others from indiana that went to this training course i plan on going after the 2009 season is over sometime in dec. Wanting to know how to prepare besides read the booklet they give you. In going on my second year now solo in lawn care and wanted to get my lic. For pest. & fert. (dont want any of those crazy fines) any help would be great thanks.

The booklet is put out by the EPA I think, so it really doesn't vary state by state. The EPA is a federal agency.
read the book, read labels, know some math. Take the class before the test.

you take the class, then at the end of the day they give you the test, very worthwhile to take the class.

There are 2 test you will need to take. Core and Category. There is also an experience requirement that can be met with a degree or another 2 day class. The test are easy but about 40% fail on the first try because of inadequate preparation.

The Core you should be able to pass with common sense alone... The 3b is super easy if you know anything about lawn care. If you can't pass it, you definitely need more knowledge before you start offering your services professionally.....
