GPS for measuring?

I just purchased a handheld Garmin GPS system. Does anyone use these units to measure square footage?

I use mine all the time but have come to realize that they are not accurate. Its usually about 1500 square foot off. Depending on the model they are only accurate within 30 feet or so unless it has the WAAS feature then it is a little closer. I havent used it on anything over 20,000 square feet though because it was off on the smaller properties.

Mine does have the WASS feature. I noticed with smaller areas it is hard to get an accurate reading. Was going to use this tool to only measure our larger properties anyways.
