Lesco agitator replacement in spreader

I have broken the agitator off on one of my lesco spreaders this winter while spreading ice melt. I ordered a new one and haven't looked very hard at how to put it on. Any tips on how to replace it easily?

I hold a hammer head or something solid underneath the hopper to pound against and then use a socket JUST bigger than the agitator shaft inside the hopper to pound on the lockwasher.
