Ahhhh Centipede........worst grass in the world.....look at it cross-eyed and it dies....don't water it and it dies......not enough sun.....it dies.....too much sun.....wrong source of potassium, wrong source of Nitrogen, wrong pre-em.... well, you get it.
The best is Gallery which has the least root pruning factors. I'd stay away from pre-ems that are in combination with fertilize. I use Gallery on a highly infested annual weed growth. Gallery buys time to get the turf healthy and growing thick which is your best defense of weeds. Centipede likes this procedure. SC has had some dieback from the extreme cold temps. The old Palmetto Centipede seems to fair better than the newer strains. Make sure you can apply the gallery at an even rate and not try to use it from a backback or handcan swinging back and forth. Make sure you read the label...remember too much and it dies....................
