Tired mrsops? We did 21hrs w/ this storm, thank god my brother took out the sander other wise i'd still be out there. The S250 ran like a champ. We had 4ft drifts in the storage facility that we plow. If we get any more snow were gonna have to truck it out of the parking lot.

They changed the date due to the weather. I'm going just to hook up w/ the wholesale nurseries and stone companies. Bobcat will be there and i have to break their balls because my machine was in for service w/ 14hrs. There was a hydraulic pressure problem. It's fine now, thank god because i worked the s*#t out of it last night.

Yea. A minor taste.

Picture those conditions for April-mid May. Probably longer this year due to above-average snowfall.

We plow everything from chain restaurants, a chain of local banks, to large hotel complex's, large scale office parks, and 50 to 70 car condo associations. No residentials.

We have the equipment to pull it off in a short time though. I just can't see plowing for that long. I have though. But wont do it ever again.

I have 4 trucks, all with 8ft boss polys with boss wings, 2 have Snow Ex 2400 spreaders on them. I have extras if neede as well. 5 total. All Snow Ex
2 Volvo L20Bs with 10ft Arctic sectionals
1 ASV PT80 with 10ft Arctic Sectional
1 ASV RC50 with 7ft Snow bucket
1 Deere 4520 with 7ft snow bucket and 8ft Landpride rear blade

Next year I plan on going even bigger, Looking to be arround 70 accounts (my personal goal)

We have bought 3 more trucks with Boss plows. We haven't plowed with them yet because we don't need them this season. I have another 12ft arctic on order, and I am going to get another tractor (Deere 5525 with loader) It will run one of the 10ft sectionals.

I take out my 3 skid steer loaders and last Storm i took out my t190 so i had 4 machines out and 4 of my pick up trucks. I dont want to put plows on any of my big dump trucks. I also had 2 buddies help me out as well with there pick ups.. How big are your salt spreaders??

J. Peterson Grading
03-03-2009, 11:49 PM
A Snowex 2400 is a cross box type spreader. You take the tail gate off, and replace it with this spreader. I put mine on my toner dumps, and I can spread as much as I can load. Usualy about 4 to 5 tons. So we can stay out awhile. I was running 4 spreaders earlier in the year, and we had a few customers decide to not use melters anymore, so I didn't need them all anymore. But we can set them up, as fast as we can set them in a truck.

I don't blame you on the full size trucks, just to big. I would however like to have one as a salter only. It would chase the loaders around.

I have a smith stainless steel 4.5 5 yard spreader on my f-650 I'm sure you have seen pics of it on here.. We love it its all electric to I'm very happy with it no more gas engines ever for me. I also have a 2 yard monroe hydraulic spreader on the back of my ford superduty dump. Next year im probably going to buy another electric speader and put it on another one of my big dumps

Everyone of mine are electric. I would never own a gas unit.

I am looking at a SnowEx V-box for next season. I want to use it as a "Ready Machine" Always loaded, ready to go and only have high end melter on board.

Unit would be for the "My lot is slick" calls or the lots that need the High end melters.

Maybe i will take a look at the snow ex are you happy with them?? Aren't they plastic those spreaders?

J. Peterson Grading

Yes. Plastic, but I have had one of them for 4 years now and I havn't had a single plastic related issue. The motors freak out on occasion. Lol

But My 2400s have never had a single problem and I have had them for 2 seasons now.

I will never own another brand. By far the best.
