Wondering what a good price would be? Landscaper Supply has the 44" job for 359 not including the mount kit.

Try Sears, I bought a 40" thatch rake for the tractor, same rake

used onWalker. Cost $ 100 fits on my 52 Lesco w/b. Save the

difference for a better back pack :blob4:

Ed, how did you go about mounting it to your WB? I assume you had to do some fabrication?
Any pics? Thanks.

I've looked at the Sears edition of the dethatcher rake, and it is NOT the same as the JRCO. Not even close. While it may work, (and for the cost, hey, it's not bad), it's not built nearly like the JRCO, nor does it have the number of tines per spacing, or the size choices.

My sears rake is attached to a piece of Uni-strut electrical

beam with slots. It is U bolted to my Lesco or Walker.

Can be seen on pg A21 Turf north April 03. Ed

I bought a 52" Walker deck and three dethatchers for Can$300 at a sale last year. It was such a good deal I gave the three dethatchers to a buddy at the sale . in return for not bidding on the items.
I already had a Walker dethatcher. Anyone who is interested in making their Walker one work easier do a search on my name, I posted pictures of some mods I did to mine.

Man, I'd buy one tomorrow for that price. Everyone around here wants $600+ for a 60". You've got some dealer there!

yeah....noticed it AFTER I posted ;) (you didn't HAVE to beat me over the head with it tho) :hammerhead:

Still, I can't imagine a 1/3rd price increase in 5 years.....his dealer STILL must be far more generous than mine.......it think he was closer to $650 and that WAS NOT intalled:cry:

Whatever the cost of the JRCO rake, you'll make your money back in one or two days. And after 4 or 5 yrs. using mine, still haven't had to even replace one tine. Works great.....!

I just ordered one online yesterday from Preco Distributors. Cost me $429.63 + $31.85 shipping. This was for the 36".

Not happy with what I paid, but expect it will pay for itself the first day...

Just checked..........the 60" would be $558 shipped from Presco. I guess that's probably as good a deal as I'll find for a new one.

I have the 60" on my lazer, and I love it, works perfect if its set right. It's a little hard to lift up, but it was worth the $. It's funny reading this thread and seeing how much the price went up.....crazy.

Actually, I'm not so much surprised at the price increase as I am the LACK of COMPETITION?!? I know this is a niche market, but com'on - this country was built on competition. That'd be the equivalent of having only two mower companies. What to guess what a new mower would cost us then? Right now JRCO can charge whatever they want because what is your alternative......a $99 homeowner drag behind model from TrueValue, Sears, etc??? I've been casually looking for over a year and really scouring recently -- there is nothing else out there that I can find. I guess China hasn't gotten around to ripping off this 'technology'...............yet :nono:

I will say that I applaud JRCO - in a cornered market they continue to make a quality product that every owner 'seems' completely satisfied with (at least in my sampling - 'never is heard a discouraging word'. On the contrary, it's 'love it'..'best investment'...'paid for itself the first day', etc) Of course a little competition might make them engineer an easier lift mechanism, right? :usflag:

Yeah, it won't be long and we'll be seeing a heavier duty model with larger pneumatic tires and an electric lift.
Joseph, i see you did some fabrication to yours to allow it to fit underneath your caster arms. Mine is mounted on top, because it interferes with the mower caster wheels. You don't get that with this configuration?
