Is there any way you could telll me if this thing is any good by looking at the pic he is sopose to be sending me more. It is a 48" exmark with a kawasaki on it. he said it ran last summer and it would run with a little tinkering? he also said he does not have the cover for the pullys so i would make one.

i dont care about how it's looks pretty like because i can re paint the whole thing

thanks in advance

Yeah don't waste your time or money. Your can get a brand new walk-behind for less than 5K with a warranty. That thing has seen better days years ago.

Looks pretty rough. How much is he asking for it? What do you need it for? I wouldn't touch that thing as a primary mower I depended on.

GOOD GOWD!! It looks like you will have to replace almost every piece on that thing...pulleys, levers, belts, bearings, the bars look bent, cables, brakes, etc. etc. If you were to pay for it, I wouldn't pay more than scrap value.

Wise words from our Ron.

Don't even take it for nothing, you'd be too tempted to waste time and money on it.

Good luck, Phil

Check the serial number, that just might be the very first mower exmark made. If you buy it you should go on antiques roadshow.

You might get $50 for it at the scrap yard. That's all its good for. He's crazy to want anything, other than for someone to get the junk out of his way.

No it's a new model compared to and old one like my 36". From what the good people at exmark told me mine was made in 88 or 89. The lady on the phone was laughing at me in a nice way. They sent me both an owners manual and a parts manual by e-mail for free. The pub date for the manual was 1986. It is just used for home use now. Still runs good<knock-on-wood> if you don't mind a pull start. You just have to love that old 12.5 Kaw. starts on the first pull after you pull it once to prime it.
