I have a 2001 f350 reg cab long box 4x2 gas

it curently has 235/85R16E's on it. the door says 265/75R16E. if I understand this right the tires curently on it are taller and narower than what it should have?

I need to replace two. is ok to keep using 235/85's or should I put 4 265/75's on it?

Thanks, John

Google "Metric Tire converserion charts". I dont know how to paste a link, but you should be able to find the tire heights and wieths in inches. But in reguards to your current tires, if you are happy with the apperance and looks of the truck, then stay with your current tire size. Your speedomoter, will only be off by 2 to 4%, which is like 3 MPH at 70MPH. Not going to hurt the truck or anything else. Hope this helps.

It is up to you the 235 and the 265 came stock on Ford trucks. The 235 is cheaper to buy it is a skinnier tire and probably work better on a 2wd especially if your looking for traction.

your truck is 2wd, it wont hurt at all as long as they are matched 2 in front, and 2 in rear

Those 2 sizes are nearly identical circumference-wise. 0.2 mph difference at 60mph.
