Lesco 48 inch walkbehind with a Peerless 700 series trans. The problem is that the jack shaft on the left side, from the back, keeps migrating out. The snap ring that should hold it in place gets worn down rubbing against the support bearing, causing the snap ring to fail. It only takes about 3 weeks for this to happen. The jackshaft is not being forced against the bearing until the machine is moving.
What has been done to solve this problem, that has not worked. Replaced the snap ring more then once, even making sure that the flat side of the snap ring is facing the bearing. Replacing the jackshaft a few times. Replacing the support bearing, the whole thing. Realign the jackshaft pulley by moving it in and out to see if that made any difference. Even going as far as replacing the axle, this acured after the problem with the jackshaft problem, it had a small bend from falling off the back of a truck, no joy. The fuel tank support that the support bearing passes through is straight.
Lesco Tech was no help. Suggestions ?
