Hey guys,

Im looking to purchase an enclosed trailer in the near future, what brands do you like the most? Which ones hold up the best of the long haul? Basically what i'm getting at is that I dont want to buy an enclosed then it turn out to be a waste of time and money because it was built with toothpics. Thanks in advance:cool2:

I purchased my new Wells Cargo 2 years ago after having hauled many diff. brands. I will not buy anything but Wells from here on out. They may be a little heavier than other brands, but I don't feel that is a bad thing. 3/4" marine grade treated ply on the floor, 3/8 or 5/8 on the wall and the frame is treated so that should you haul gran. fert. or something along that line and it spills, it will not chemically react and cause rust. E/Z lube wheel bearings, elec. brakes on all 4 wheels. Craftmanship is topnotch. And I drove directly to the factory in Carbondale, PA and picked it up to save a little money. Great Co. to deal with.

I have a Haulmark and like it alot. It has the torflex torsion axles and it pulls nice and smooth, no issues at all. Its a 1999 model and still works great despite its age.

The only other trailers I would buy other than another Haulmark is a wells cargo or pace. They are very well made trailers as well

I had a 2001 20ft cargo express back when i used to mow and do irrigation. The problem i had was the screws that held the skin on would always losten up over time. The other problem was that it came w/ car tires on it new from the dealer. So I tore right thru them really fast and had to put trailer tires on it so they would last, the scumbag dealer was like oh thats how they come I sold you a trailer etc. I just badmouth him when I can. REP trailer sales route 33 Greenland, NH dont buy from him.

There is a manufacture in West PA ...CarMate...they make awesome trailers...1 piece roofs, LED lighting, etc....Great craftsmanship! They are more expensive than most, but worth it if you have the cash. http://carmate.know-where.com/carmate/cgi/selection?mapid=US&lang=en&design=default&place=15204....Check them out

Most trailers are junk. Just cuz you got some L.E.D lights and a bigger stone guard don't mean a thing. There are a few companies that produce a trailer that will hold up to commercial use and abuse. Pace offers a commercial line as well as Featherlite. Also check out ATC trailers www.aluminumtrailer.com they build a nice trailer.

I bought a featherlite in 1995 and other than replacing brakes and tires, this trailer has been trouble free. I just reapplied undercoating to the frame after 15 years on the road.

We have run Wells Cargo Trailers (8x20) for 15 years. Good quality, design and options that work for the long run.

A option to think about no matter what you pick, upgrade the axles to 4 tons (6 lug). It will be the one item garanteed to be a problem over time. Bigger brakes, tires and wheels, bearings, axles, and suspension. better stability and weight limit. My dealer sold me big on this option 15 years ago.

I agree WHOLE HEARTEDLY!!!!!

I wish I had upgraded my axles to 5200lb axles instead of 3500!!

HI,

For the trailer I got, the 3500 lb Axles were standard, 5200 lb axles cost $550 more and the 7000 lb axles cost $975more because the frame / tongue is upgraded at that point....
I went middle of the road but maybe I should have gone the $425 for even more beef but I didn't.....I still think about it sometimes...

We have the same trailer, it has done good for 3 years.

I do agree that Wells Cargo, seem like they are top notch, from everything that I have read.

We run a couple of Pace Summits 8 x 20 . Love them . We went with the 5k axles, for the few hundred extra dollars you get heavier tires , brakes and axles. Have also had Cargo Express , nice trailer but it was way over built , it had L shaped cabnits that were 3/4" marine plywood with aluminum over it. Have had Car mates before, they are ok, maybe they have steped it up some over the yrs. HAd a US cargo that was an ok trailer also. When I looked last time the Summit had a nicer fit and finsh than the Wells that we compared it to.

Like my Haulmark LS 7x14, as of today is now are construction trailer. Just purchased a Wells Cargo 8x16 loaded to the max LS package, ATP Plates, Shelving, Green Touch, two-tone to match the haulmark, you name it, it has it. Same price out the door as the haulmark basic trailer and the dealer was great. Can not wait to put this thing into service.
