View Full Version : WTB: Chainsaws
I'm looking to purchase any chainsaw that you have that are not running. I have a great interest in rebuilding these and any contribution would help. PM or reply if you have anything will to donate or sell cheap.

Crap! I just got rid of a Stihl 440. It fell of the trailer on the highway, rolled and slammed a tree. I got an estimate of over 600 to fix it. I would have gladly given it away. Now I have to wipe my teary eyes, suck it up, and go buy a new 441. $850:cry::cry:
Lesson of this sad tail....Never trust a bungie cord...Even if its new.
I have an 026 that was like that. The dealer told the guy it would be over $400 to fix it. The only thing I replaced was the clutch cover and the bar. Besides that it runs like a champ. I don't think the dealer wanted to mess with it. He sold the guy anyhow.

Garbage....The saw looked like a mangled mess. The engine block cracked apon contact with the tree. The only thing that could be saved was the piston and crankshaft. It was a sad day.
