I am looking at an 06 SuperZ 66XR7. Can you tell by the Hustler tag in front of the seat which engine it is?

Yes.
Give me the 6 digit model # that starts with a 9 and I can tell you exactly what it is supposed to be.

Im guessing that 27 means its a 27KOH?

That is a 27 Kohler 66" Super Z produced in November of 2005, it is the first month we produced the XR-7 decks and the 66" were the first size offered.
The 27 in the 927996 model # is just a coincidence, many models of various engine options were made with that prefix.

Not buying a new one this year, Nick? My dealer in Cedar Falls sold a 27 Kohler 66 a few years ago-----they were very limited production. Most were sold with 30hp Kohler in our area.

I thought my Diesel Hustler Z demo had your name on it... :)

Oddly enough, Im positive this is your CF dealers 27/66. Its Beaver Valleys used one, and im 99% sure it came from Dana.
I was hoping that diesel demo was coming my way, you still havent let me turn the blades on yet :)
