Last years model ?

I just bought my first ZTR mower this past weekend, a "last year model" new Fastrak 20/52 with the Kohler Courage engine. I bought it "new" for $4100 + tax. The little I have driven it this week, it seems to be a good mower for me. It will be used for my residence only, about 2.5 acres flat but one slight rolling hill. Everything looks great so far...
After reading some posts on the website, I checked out my serial number and found out it is actually a 2006 model! It is new, probably never cut grass, but I seem to worry if this thing has sat in a warehouse, or just pulling in out for display. I have the full warranty, so I will see after this season how it performs if it was a good deal.
Has this happened to anybody before? What is your experience with a "new" but older model? Will this change my maintenance schedule any? I was going to change the oil after the first initial 5 hrs by kohlers schedule. What about hydros filter and oil changes or any other maintenance that is required after two years. I am already there! I did install an hour meter, because I plan on having this mower several years. Any comments or suggestions appreciated.

I would not have any concerns.
You stay with the maintenance schedule as it is in the owners manual, it is still a new mower.
$4,100 ?? that is a very nice price, very nice.

Thanks, Pj. I have to admit reading this forum helped me make my decision. Murfreesboro Kubota is where I purchased the mower from. The sales guy would not come off the price at all, but seems to be a good price per your response. I inquired about the honda engine, but he seemed to lean toward the Kohler because of the ease of service and the store's ability to service and warrant the Kohler from past exp.
Could you help me with the part #'s for some additions?

Flex forks, Flex seat, Rubber side chute, and blade options. Does my mower have stock fusion blades?
Also, after topping off fuel this weekend after some practice,I noticed this mower does not have a gas or line of sight gauge! Any suggestions before it runs out in one tank!!

There is not a Flex seat for FasTraks.

Your unit does not come with the Fusion blades stock.

Here is your blade options.

FasTrak/MiniZ/Super Mini Z 52 mulching part # 794198, this is the wavy blade
Gator part #785436, this is a Gator brand mulching blade.
FasTrak/MiniZ/Super Mini Z 52 side discharge part # 795526, this is the Fusion blade.

Fuel tank level gauge...
There is no option there unfortunately.
You can keep tab's on fuel levels before mowing by taking the cap off and looking in the tank and or tapping on the tank to hear how full the tank is.
