Snow is still on the lawn in the shade, the air temperature is about 26 degrees. We have had a few 50 degree days recently. I saw a 1.75" Army Worm on the lawn, frozen. It doesn't seem possible that it is from last fall, it still looked pretty fresh.

I'm in Maine. We usually don't get Army Worms but a storm brought some in. Last year (2001) was the first year in a long time that Maine had an Army Worm problem. This past winter was mild, and people think that we may be in for another year of Army Worm problems. Last summer I had two seperate invasions. I applied Sevin and there were so many dead carcasses it smelled like death.
I can't understand how a Army Worm could get to the stage I found so early in the year.
