I have not heard of them, does it say "only" really??

so how exactly does nature work then..it "only" has flood, hurricane, lightning, blight, fire

I like FIRE

I think I'll stay away

Smallaxe, since the pesticide ban has gone into affect the largest franchise in North America (now cannot apply pesticides) will give you 1 person for 10 minutes and they wil pick as many weeds as possible in that time frame

I am completely serious

 Do they still get to drive the big trucks?

Have any of them started to think about overseeding at the same time as they pull the weed?
A tub of pre-germinated seed could really become a big niche item.

The natures way product from WeedMan is Sarritor I believe. Agrium Advanced Technologies will be the distributor. http://www.turfpro.ca/

Ya but Weed man has a 3 year exclusive on it.
Also in the nature touch is corn gluten and Beet Juice
our phosphorus free fertilizer and Lime
The Sarritor is a new product first used last year. Rather unusual product.
We used it as a spot treatment last year with some pretty good results.
This year it looks like we may add some drop spreader apps to the mix on Bigger lawns.

Can we get some prices per app and how many apps for good results. Weedman in Ontario is on its 3rd or 4th year of testing from what I understand.

Ontario is on their second year as well.
Not real sure about pricing but I will see what I can find out.

We are screwed until someone comes up with a weed control that works!

I have seen the results of Sarritor, cgm, and all the other products at the Guelf Turfgrass Institute. The best control plots of all managed a 35% control of weeds. That meens 65% of the weeds stay! In my opinion that = phone calls from every customer!

I will say that if they maintain the ban it will force companies like 3M (and the other big players) to invest in the natural weed control industry. If one of these billion dollar companies starts (and they probably have) will will have our "safe" herbicide in a couple years!

I was at OTS in Guelph this past winter and was very interested in the presentation on "Phoma" as a future post-emergent weed control. In summary, it's a naturally occuring fungus(like Sarritor) that infects Canada Thistle. It works in the soil(unlike Sarritor, which needs direct plant contact).
Phoma can be applied in the spring to prevent weeds(pre-emergent) or later to kill existing weeds. Possibly a one-app. product for season long control.

Has been in development sponsored by Scotts Co. for 12 years, and they are starting registration through the NAFTA process. We probably won't see it for a few years. Hope we can keep our customers till then...
