Brought this bad boy home a few days ago, cant wait to use it. Its a 2005, 72" 7 IRON, 149 hours, has the headlight kit also. I ordered a OCDC from Power Chute Design for it, along with the Deere rear bumper for it. Just have to touch up a few scuffs and it will be ready to go. Let me know what you guys think!:usflag:

Gotta love the JD Green paint & the Diesel option, Lights? and no engine guard:nono::hammerhead: I would seriously invest in the JD optional brush guard to protect the rear of the engine & fiberglass hood ASAP. All it will take is one time backing into something, and the repair bill will be more than the price of the brush guard. In all the base 997 is a great ZTR, you must add everything as an "option" this is why I am DONE with JD

Most people do not care about grammer...I am one of them. As long as it is kinda readable, it is OK with me!

That mower will be one heck of an addition!

That thing's a beast. I sure wouldn't want it on softer lawns, though. Watch carefully on your first cuts of the season when the ground is still soft. Same thing through the season when you get some rain.

wow the back of that mower looks like the front of a jd tractor. I like it a lot, the only thing missing is a stack out the hood of that thing!

Very nice, you will love the diesel power and the productin of a 72' deck. So its an 05 with 150hrs, what was the price on this beast?

You will like that 997, once you mow with it, you will not want to mow with any other machine. The rear guard is nice and worth the money, very heavy duty. You pull two pins and it lowers so the hood will tip back so i doesn't stick out too far.

How did you find an '05 with only 149 hours, both our 05's look like they been through a war or two and have the meter readings to prove it!!

Nice find we demoed one this past summer and I did like it, however we do a few cemetarys and it was a little tight but we did make it around for the most part. I think that the 60" decks work better for us. But I do love that machine. Get everything together and snap a photo and share it with us when you have time. Thanks for sharing!!
