I did a brief search on here, but I always like fresh input.
How many of you guys use this timer, what are your thoughts?

We use the Rain bird module and smart line. With the new wireless smaller weather station the Sl is great. The only thing I don't like is older style that doesn't have a ribbon cable for the front panel and the compact wiring inside.

Nothing has changed with the controller, so any topics from last year are still valid.

They take some fooling with to take advantage of the options, but they seem
to be working fine with us. A good medium-end clock, so far.

I don't know why I haven't gotten my email yet. Maybe I should have used a different address than whycantwmbuildadecentsolenoid@biteme.com

Yep, that is what turned me off - but what does farming out solenoids have to do with a tested controller?

I wouldn't say they are "tested" yet. They haven't been out more than what, 2-3 years?

solenoids, or smartlines?

ive had a smartline for like 6 years now or so.

WM does accelerated life tests, and tests these suckers to death.

i am confident in the new versions that are on the market now. older ones had their bugs, i think the most recent versions are legit. the new slw15's switched to 2 AA batteries instead of a 9v. some of the AA batteries came dead and without juice.

just something to look out for.

Hmmm... didn't realize they've been out that long. Hadn't hit our market until the last 2-3 years then.
