fixing ruts and uneven spaces

I have a new lawn (as of sept 2001). I have some areas that are uneven. The lawn is fine, looks great to say the least. So removing the lawn and leveling is not in the equation. My question is, how does topdressing work? Are there any other options?

well which are u asking how to fix ruts or how to fix uneven lawn? ruts simply squash down the sides and add some dirt and seed and straw if neccasary, uneven areas is a lot harder and hard to say without seeing, may require some fill dirt then soil then seed then straw or maybe more or less.

mac43, if you have ruts you have a compacted lawn where the ruts are, you might want to do a deep core aeration, then fill in where the ruts are.
