I know Kohler is working on 40+ hp efi's, I don't believe they are out to test yet though.
We test all kinds of engines in our mowers, as they go through the testing we decide if they will meet our customers needs.
I would hope we see these new efi's, I just don't know when.

I spoke with Kohler and was told their 40 hp efi would be in field applications in 2 to 3 months in both vertical and horizonal shaft.

They are in the process of putting efi technology into all their engines due to new government regulations. I personally stated around 1 1/2 yrs. ago; "it would not be very long until our government forces small engine manufactures into total efi application." What I said, is now coming into existence and I am personally very glad. EFI engines are so far ahead of carburetor type engines in emissions and fuel consumption there is really nothing to be discussed.

This is the reasoning for Kohler moving towards total efi in their engines. The federal government says you will lessen emissions and increase fuel economy by 22%. Kohler realizes; this is the fastest method of meeting the governments forced criteria.
