So I have had this account for several years and a 2 different owners. last year the new owner had some serious work done in the fall. More than doubled the area needing maintenance and 1000 times more complex. I submitted my my price which I will reveal later. I want to know what you guys would think ball park. I know I know. I was told that I was too expensive, but I could do it for the same price as last year. I laughed

2000+ feet trimming, 1700 or which is vertical and horizontal, full irrigation, full fert program, red is trimming, blue is 52" or less mower, pink is 52" or less WB mower, yellow is 32" or less WB. No access through woods to street area.

I'll add that they spent over 100K on cosmetic landscaping in the last 8 months.

I could show you the blank picture but since it is several years old it wouldnt matter. I can add more color if you like. LOL

What is green or aqua?

03-21-2009, 07:45 PM
Aqua by itself is any mower 52" and under. Tater there is a dollar figure for everything. If they do find someone for what they want to pay, I will laugh all year long. I have 6 more right there so it wont be long till I find out who they go with. I will say that the price I gave although considerably high for the area is actually quite a bit lower than it would have been if I wasnt already there.

It might appear as if the majority have enough sense to not quote on a picture.

Although we have done it, but usually they're a tee bit sharper.

I'm color blind, so I will say $35.00 per cut......MAYBE $40.00 with a 52" push mower going down hill......

Get the guy on here that does the first cut for free and time him, then give your bid:laugh:
It's too hard to give a qoute with an illustration like that

03-21-2009, 11:17 PM
Dude tell us your bid!!!! otherwise i have no clue what we are talking about as far as price. i need a range. what did they want to pay and what was your bid?

03-21-2009, 11:32 PM
... what we are talking about as far as price. i need a range. what did they want to pay and what was your bid?

Yeah, go ahead and tell us what they are willing to pay !!

03-22-2009, 12:14 AM
I wouldn't do it. OK, I probably would if the price was right.....which I am sure it isn't, or else you wouldn't be posting this.

Fine since no one wants to play. I just wanted to have a little fun with you guys. I guess I caught it on the wrong day since I see numbers thrown around all the time here.

Full maintenance including mowing, fert, cleanup spring and fall, and bi monthly bed maintenance. $6500 over 8 months

Just mowing with proper trimming and paved surface cleanup $410/ month all others extra

They wanted to pay something closer to 200 / month which it was 2 years ago with nothing more than trimming the curb, drive, and around the house, and around 16K turf area.

Had I not already been on that street for 6 others it would have been 125-140 / cut

My price means very little, since Joe Mow can do it for 35 with a 21 and probably make more profit. I was looking to see what the national thought was. I know some will come in lower, but I will turn them in the day I see a bag of Weed and Feed come out, and I know that the few reputable companies around would be around mine or more since they arent on the street already.

Bottom line is this account takes a lot of work, over a mile of walking, some riding, at least 2 mowers, and over an hour for 2 guys.

03-22-2009, 02:19 AM
I don't know shovel, but that price does seem to be for a commercial complex or
account, is that what this is?

I just couldn't tell from that picture, it's pretty bad, how big is the place?

And $200 a month may sound low but if it's just a 1/2 acre residential,
see there's just no telling from that blur of trees, a house, I can see some
driveway and what appears to be lawn...

But I get you, I think.

House is between 4 and 5000 sq ft. Property cames in around and 1.4 acres. About 40,000 turf area. The killer is the 2000 ft of trimming. I dont care that they think I'm too high because it would be my lowest profit house on the street for what I asked. I was looking to see what a range was for reasonable service.
