I have a 2004 or 2005 superz 60 27hp 300 hrs. I love the mower but the cut quality is very poor , first I had the deck modified as recommended buy dealer it help with deck clogging but not for cut quality , then they said try the blowout baffle it helped with blowout but not cut quality , then recommended fusion blades well it helps a little but there is still a section where the middle blade run that looks as if it was cut half high as the two outside blades causing me to double cut a lot can anyone give advice or have the same trouble with the old style deck. I am a true hustler fan but surely there is a fix for this other than trading for a new mower. Please help:confused:

When you went to the flat Fusion blades did you put the spacers in? if so are they all in? is there a chance of a bent blade? and correct blades.
Has the deck been checked for pitch and level?
Also, deck belt tension and engine RPM's.
All these will affect the cut quality.
Once we opened up the discharge and put the Fusions on with spacers along with all of the above being within spec, those decks cut great in 99% of the conditions out there.

How tight should the belt tension be? Right now the spring is about 9 1/2 inches which seem to feel tight enough. The deck pitch is ok , I even tried double blades still the middle section of the deck Leaves a strip , if I take the blow out baffle out it makes no difference just blows out really bad also notice that the grass Being discharged is not thrown very far . I appreciate the feedback but I don’t want to get away from hustler mowers I just do not like looking behind and seeing that big of a strip of uncut grass. On that note if the belt tension was not tight enough would that cause the two outside blades to Cut and not the middle one?

Sounds like you belt tension is ok and your not likely having slippage.
Have you gotten under the deck and looked to see if the blades are all at teh same height?

Ok I loaded up and went to my local dealer Maynard equipment these guys are top notch rolled it in the shop they asked what was the problem and before I could get it all out the technician said the belt was on WRONG. That made me fill kind of crazy because I replaced a pulley that went out and reinstalled the belt wrong. Thanks mower consultant keep up the good work Hustler Rocks.

I should have asked you that question... lol...
Yeah if the belt is not routed properly that pulley will slip and not cut grass very well under a load.
That is why I asked the tension question.
Maynards is a great dealer, I am glad they took care of you.
