I have a Stihl BR 600 and I am going to be asking to clean parking lots for some office buildings and apartments in the area. My question for you is what to charge? Hourly? By area? what is the average going rate you guys offer? I am in the midwest (Minnesota). I would appreciate it.

Also what tips can you offer me in this field?

Thanks:drinkup:

Use a walk behind blower and push the debris towards the curbs, (edges), then use this to pick it up:http://www.billygoat.com/site/intro.aspx?pid=71

We look for 55 an hour. As an example, we do a couple of Wendy's, we charge them 41.25, two times a week, each.

NCLS- I like the looks of that billy goat. Have you ever used a blower though? does that billy handle bottles (plastic) and common lot trash? can you look at a job and say how long it will take or is it one of those things that ou see while you go?

How big are the parking lots....is this a one time spring clean up...if so, rent a bobcat with a sweeper for the day and add the fee into the quote

i wouldnt touch a parking lot with out atleast a power broom. i will hit parking lots with a power broom then blow off the dust after. if its any more then 20 parking spaces rent a bobcat with a sweeper. i do one parking lot i will pull about 1-2 yards of dirt from. its a small parking lot too.
