Does anyone have any suggestions on a lawn care software program?
It will need it to be compatible with quicken.

Thanks Chris

I use Quickbooks simple start it works good but it's the only thing I've used so I can't really compare to anything

I use a POS system that was developed out of Wisconsin.

It is a little more involved than quicken or most programs on the market, it utilizes a scanner and we use UPC barcodes when inputting. I have a book with the customers info and listed below their information is their UPC label for their personal info...if they are a $40.00 cut, there is a upc label on their page that I scan, so when I do the service, I open book, scan them and it brings up their account history online, then the services listed on their page I performed, and it generates an up to date invoice.
I have codes for
Hourly
per job price ie: $30 cut/$40/so on...
Discounted at all levels
Mulch
Debris cleanup
Spring cleanups
Fall cleanups
materials
Basically any and all associated costs...
They all have formulas to determine billing, works for my quotes as well...If I input 3.25 hour for a spring cleanup, labor hours, material costs example 23 bags...it generates quote or invoice. It produces the invoice but also figures associated costs and sends to the accounting side of program.
It works basically like a restaurant Point of Sale, if you scan in a beer, it subtracts that beer from inventory, then subtracts the cost of beer and associated labor/overhead costs and runs it to the accounting side.
It is pretty easy yet complex, because it tracks everything we do to the minute with labor, profits per man hour, profit per hour/costs per hour/fule use for a particular route/fuel for equipment
It goes as far as tracks hours when associating equipment used on particular job/and a lot of other depreiciation and cost factors...
it runs about $1695 for the program and then you have to have your scanner and computer, they come set it up and give you ongoing support, I send them any new info online and they will input for the first 2 years. You need to have a UPC thermal label printer as well...total was about $2500 and change... I can send you the info on it...it is costly, but it saves me that and more with my accountant @ $95 an hour.
