Have their dethatcher and aerator. They are pretty much bullet proof. If you buy their aerator, get a spare drive belt for it. They tend to break after a 100 hours or so.

My thoughts are they are extremely over priced. I do own a BB power rake and it's great but the aerator around here costs $2800 or so.

Buy them from Home Depot.... off rental. Paid $700 for the aerator and $525 for the dethatcher.

That's a damn good Idea.. thanks man.

If they don't have any for sale (spring around the corner up here) maybe I should rent it and then tell them I lost it but I'm willing to pay what an old one costs:p

I run the 530a Bluebird Aerator and have had no problems, Like the other guy said the belts and drive chains do wear out. I put a new chain and belt on this year but It had 3 seasons on it ( used HD rental unit )

I'm the full time Tool Tech for Hd rental center so I see the abuse the Bluebird stuff takes from un-skilled users and I have to say it holds up.

As far as renting it and saying You lost it, the price is based off the number of rentals. so you may be paying new price if the unit has few rentals.

I am looking for a used 48 inch tow behind to speed things up as I have lots of open areas and a ZTR to tow with. Does home depot rent these? Who do you talk to to buy the used units?

I have a blue bird overseeder and it works great. It a well built machine and I have had no problems.
My has a toro aerator which is basically a blue bird painted red and it he likes it. His is pretty old and takes alot of abuse from his crew but seems to hold up well.
