So i use my pickup truck for my lawn business.....it works great!

However we are expanding, and now looking into a new truck

After watching all the lawn companies in my area whiz by in their rigs I noticed that the Mitsubishi/Isuzu FUSO NPR trucks seem VERY PRACTICAL!
Why buy a new truck and bigger trailer when i can just get a flatbed dovetail with ramps????

What are those who own these types of rigs opinions?

thanks

nice refference to the movie! i have a 99 gmc w3500 cab over. i thought the same thing and bought one. love the truck! when i bought it cab and chasis only so therefore i had to put my own bed on it. i was too cheap to spend the money on a good landscape bed so i had one built. BIG mistake the guy didnt listen to my ideas and built it his way. it is functional but not practical. anyway back to your question. if you buy one without a bed put the landscape bed on it! i love mine just wish it was easier to use. gets way better mileage than my dodge 1 ton pulling a trailer, everything is right there, you dont have to worry about trailer tires, lights bearings etc... imo would be a wise choice. dont know where you are in the heartland but mine is for sale and would sell it cheap enough for you to do the bed right or take off and put a landscape bed on.

I am in Kansas......
We will not be in the market till the end of the growing season this year.
I have found some on ebay with decent miles (by that i mean under a hundred thousand) and the landscape bed (which i believe they call dovetail bed in the market) anyhow they just seem to me to be the most practical when it comes to mowing/landscaping.

I really appreciate your input and would like to exchange email addresses privately if at all possible.....i thought you could send private messages on these vBulletin message boards but am not finding a link anywhere for it.

Do you park it inside at night? How do you deal with the issue of the equipment being in the weather?

unfortunatly thats a big issue right now, i kept it in a barn but have moved and as of right now do not have any shelter. kept all walk behinds and hand helds in storage for the winter, use my walker for snow removal so it was out most of the winter. am fighting with my banker to loan me money to build a shop. will probably tarp everything until i get that done.
