Thought this one up myself. Might work on mulch but mainly just for tree branches and brush.

Cool idea. What are you using to pull the chain?

When my father had a dump truck his hydraulic ram broke and at the dump the guy told us the same idea! I just wish we still had that truck. lol let us know how it works for you.

There's a guy that I know that has a similar setup to drag cut tires off with. He has a 8000 pound winch on the back of the truck, and the cable goes right under the trailer to the back and has a guide wheel on the rear and the cable comes up from the bottom of the trailer to the top of the floor and then on to the drag on the front. Push of a button, and here comes everything off the trailer

It worked great, pulled everything out of the trailer and saved us 25 min of unloading time.

Oh and you either hook the chain to a wheel loader at the dump or to a tree.

I might attach the chain lower on the pellet so it pushes better.

It might work better if you attach the chain to the pallet in two places. Take a short section of chain and attach it at the top and then again at the bottom of the pallet. Then take ur long chain and hook that to the loop that you just created. This will allow the pull point to be in the center and keep the pallet upright. just an idea!

I do something similar for leaves but I use 2 spare tires and attatch the chain to an earth anchor. It gets the bulk and compacted stuff out, then I blow out the rest.
